Hyperthyroidism in cats
Q: Is it possible to get the tapazole gel from petmeds? i could only find the pills.
A: Currently we have only the tablets available. please check back regularly as we should have it available in many forms like gel, flavored liquids, etc.
Tapeworm
Q: If my cat has tapeworms, and i order the bottle with 3 pills in it will that be enough to get rid of them, or will i need more then 3 pills?
A: That depends on the weight of the cat and the medication you will be using. the veterinarian evidently ordered the 3 pills based on those factors.
Heartworm pills
Q: My 1yr. old cat ate my dogs heartworm chewable pill. what if anything should i do. will this be life threatening?
A: Should not a problem at all. dont worry
Serious infestation
Q: I am at my wits end. we bombed the house, laid seven dust in the yard, put frontline on the dog, gave him the oral flea pills, gave him a flea bath and dip, and have a flea collar on him and he is still infested. i don't know what else to do. i have an exterminator coming on saturday but i don't see how that will help if the dog is covered in them already. would it help to shave all of the dog's hair off?
A: It wont help to shave. consider excellent quick kill product like capstar which you can use orally for a few days. you have to treat house appropriately to solve this one. exterminator is good idea.
Shop for: capstar, frontline
Cheaper rx food for 10 y/o male cat?
Q: Hi, i've had to pay for high rx food for my 10 y/o fixed lhd cat for many yrs. is there any way to get equivalent uti rx cat food, such as eukanuba low ph/s and hill's c/d? over the yrs, it has cost literally several thousand $, and i'm by no means rich. in fact, i'm quite poor. can i buy powder or pills? thanks muchly, paul m.
A: I am not a big believer in these urinary diets which create other problems. simply feed a good natural brand wet cat food (not dry) to your pet like pet guard or innova.
Reliable pill flea treatment
Q: We live in a rural community where my dogs have an acre or so to roam in, and the fleas can be a problem, treating the fenced in yard, the house and even the in door cats is taken care of, but the topical treatments, such as frontline, etc don't seem to work well on my dogs, beagle and mixed breed, is there a reliable pill for flea control that i could give? i looked on the petmeds.com flea & tick chart and the two pills that are offered don't offer anything else in the way of protection. thanks.
A: You might want to consider using program orally, and adding a good flea collar like zema.
Shop for: tick, frontline
Blood in stools
Q: Several months ago after my border collie was in heat she started with loose stools and ended up with blood in her stools. the vet said she had ulcers and gave her charcoal and some other pills. she seem to start to straighten up then we wormed her and she started in with the watery stools this time brown not dark like before. the vet put her on charcoal pills and cimetidine 800 mg twice a day is there a vitamin or something else we can give her to help her get straighten up. she is one year old. i am so thankful i found this web site to be able to ask this question.
A: I would concentrate on providing her with good natural diet like pet guard or innova or wellness or lifes abundance. i also would supplement her with digestive enzymes like prozyme from 1800petmeds as well as adding flax oil to her food at 1 tea per 20 pounds of body weight daily. if diarrhea is recurrent she should be worked up for chronic diarrhea by your vet
Shop for: vitamin, prozyme, 1800petmeds
