Hyperthyroidism in cats
Q: Is it possible to get the tapazole gel from petmeds? i could only find the pills.
A: Currently we have only the tablets available. please check back regularly as we should have it available in many forms like gel, flavored liquids, etc.
Incontinence
Q: My dog belle is a 9 yr. old german shephard weighing 125lbs. i have had her to 2 vets and she has been on the pills for incontinence. nothing is working. she urinates all the time and doesn't even know. she smells terible and so does our house. is there help for her. thank you.
A: Could be secondary infection as well so make sure to have vet check urine for infection. also some pets need low dose estrogen if phenylproponolamine not helping. may help to have pet examined by second vet for different opinion
Hyperthyroidism
Q: My cat is 14 years old and has lost a lot of weight in the last couple of years. my vet's diagnosis was thyroid problems, so we were given some pills. the cat would not take them at the time, and now i cannot get a refill, because it has been over a year. i cannot take the amnilmal back to the vet, as he does not support driving, and i fear he is not going to make it. could i buy from you on line some medication appropriate for his treatment. the name of the previous one was tapazole if i remember correctly. thank you in advance, regards, zoya
A: We carry both the brand and generic equivalent for the tapazole, and with your veterinarian's approval we can also supply it in a flavored liquid if that would make administering it easier.
Mistletoe poisoning
Q: Our 75# lab and 20# beagle ate a small amount of dry mistletoe ( a few leaves each), will this be harmful?
A: Should not be a problem. watch for digestive upset but should be ok if only tiny bits
Tapeworm
Q: Hi, my dog has signs of tapeworm, that is the small white segments near the anus. i just purchased the "tapeworm tabs". she is approx. 80lbs and according to your instructions should take all 5 pills. my questions is, do i give her all 5 at the same time? i wasn't sure if that was safe to do, or should i stagger the medication throughout a specific time period. thank you for answer.
A: You give all 5 tablets as a single dose
