Sleeping pills
Q: I have a 14 year old male boston terrier, and he wakes me up at 1 am every morning, would giving him valerian root help him sleep ? he has also been diagonised with blastomycocis, so will the valerian root be ok to use, he weighs 31 lbs.
A: I have not used this herb in my practice. i would try some natural flower essences like rescue remedy from health food store
Cheaper rx food for 10 y/o male cat?
Q: Hi, i've had to pay for high rx food for my 10 y/o fixed lhd cat for many yrs. is there any way to get equivalent uti rx cat food, such as eukanuba low ph/s and hill's c/d? over the yrs, it has cost literally several thousand $, and i'm by no means rich. in fact, i'm quite poor. can i buy powder or pills? thanks muchly, paul m.
A: I am not a big believer in these urinary diets which create other problems. simply feed a good natural brand wet cat food (not dry) to your pet like pet guard or innova.
Liquid pain relief
Q: Our dog suzie is a poodle mix. she is diebetic and partially blind. suzie has some problems with her back hips. her hips were injured several years ago and never healed properly. she has now developed a large tumor like lump that my hand can fit around on her right shoulder. suzie fights me so if i try to give her pills and will walk away from food if she senses any kind of medication. is there any kind of liquid pain medication i can inject as i do her insulin. our vet will not give her steriods because of the insulin.
A: I am not aware of any injections i would reocmmend for home use. you could try metacam which dogs usually readily take in their food
